The Boston Celtics took a commanding lead in the NBA Finals on Tuesday night, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the way for Boston, combining for 61 points. Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving struggled for Dallas, combining for just 37 points on 12-of-36 shooting.

The Celtics jumped out to a quick lead in the first quarter, taking a 32-25 advantage after the opening 12 minutes. Tatum and Brown were both hot from the field, combining for 20 points in the quarter. Dončić and Irving struggled to keep up, combining for just 11 points on 4-of-15 shooting.

The Celtics continued to build on their lead in the second quarter, taking a 58-45 advantage into the halftime break. Tatum and Brown continued to lead the way for Boston, while Dončić and Irving continued to struggle. Dončić picked up his third foul late in the quarter and was forced to sit for the final few minutes.

The Mavericks made a run in the third quarter, cutting the Celtics' lead to 79-70 with just over three minutes remaining in the period. However, the Celtics responded with a 9-0 run to take an 88-70 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Mavericks never got closer than 10 points in the fourth quarter, as the Celtics closed out the game with a 107-89 victory. Tatum finished with a game-high 30 points, while Brown added 29 points. Dončić led the Mavericks with 20 points, while Irving added 17 points.

The Celtics now have a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals. Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday night in Dallas.
