Whitmer's Daughters: Family, Education, and Support

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is a proud mother of five children: Sherry, Sydney, Alex, Mason, and Winston. Her daughters, Sherry and Sydney, both attended East Lansing High School and the University of Michigan. Sherry is openly gay and is a strong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.

Sherry recently graduated from the University of Michigan, while Sydney is still a student there. The governor's three stepsons, Alex, Mason, and Winston, all live in the governor's summer residence on Mackinac Island. Whitmer has said that her children are her "greatest joy" and that she is "so proud of the people they have become."
