The World's Largest 3D-Printed Neighborhood is Here

By WEB Pui-Guan Man | August 8, 2024 | 6:06pm

In Texas, a towering 45ft robot is putting the finishing touches on what is thought to be the world's largest 3D-printed community.

This summer, the robotic printer from ICON is finishing the last few of 100 3D-printed houses in Wolf Ranch, a community in Georgetown, Texas. The world's largest community of 3D-printed homes is being built in Texas, and the neighborhood just unveiled its first completed house.

If it can scale, the 3D-printing process promises to deliver energy-efficient and climate-resilient homes at a lower cost than traditional construction methods. However, the technology is still in its early stages, and there are some challenges that need to be overcome before it can be widely adopted.
