Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley Under Fire
City Council Calls for Investigation
Doorley Accused of Misconduct and Abuse of Power
Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley is facing increasing scrutiny after a series of incidents that have raised questions about her conduct and fitness to hold office.
In a letter sent to State Attorney General Letitia Tish, the entire Rochester City Council called for an investigation into Doorley's behavior. The letter cited several incidents, including:
- Doorley's refusal to pull over for a traffic stop
- Her angry and unprofessional response to the officers who stopped her
- Her alleged use of her position to intimidate and harass political opponents
In a statement released late Thursday afternoon, Monroe County District Attorney's office said that Doorley "has been the subject of numerous unfounded allegations in recent weeks." The statement went on to say that Doorley "has always acted in the best interests of the people of Monroe County" and that she "will continue to do so."
